My writing journey commenced at the age of sixteen, born out of a personal need to navigate the profound loss of my grandmother. Storytelling became a significant part of my life; however, the responsibilities of motherhood temporarily shifted my focus. Later, during my tenure in the trucking industry, moments of stillness—waiting at loading docks—offered the opportunity to reconnect with my creative passion. Equipped with nothing more than the notepad on my phone, I began developing ideas that would eventually shape the Kerala Jade series. A pivotal moment occurred when one of my daughters inadvertently discovered my notes while preparing a grocery list. After reading them, she remarked, "Mama, this needs to be published." Her encouragement, coupled with the unwavering support of my daughters, motivated me to pursue publication—a decision that has profoundly shaped my purpose and professional path.

Kerri E. Murray was born and raised in a rural community in southeastern Oklahoma, situated at the crossroads of Arkansas and Texas. She resides with her high school sweetheart and their two daughters, whose enduring support and inspiration continue to guide her creative endeavors.
